Udobizness of The Week - A Taste of Tee

August 17, 2020 Administrator

This week, we move towards the mixology part of Udobiz by showcasing A Taste of Tee, run by Theresa Efiom in Calabar, Cross-Rivers State. Theresa enjoys reading, listening to music and trying out new drink recipes. Mixology is definitely more than a business to her; it’s a lifestyle. A Taste of Tee specializes in a wide variety of drink blends including fruit juices, smoothies, fruit parfait, milkshakes, cocktails, mojitos, lemonade and chapman. For Theresa, it is not just a blend of fruits, it is a taste of a new discovery.

Theresa started A Taste of Tee on the 24th of November 2019. According to her, taking on that new challenge made her change her perspective on life. Now she sees it as more than just a business but also an extension of herself. Her biggest challenge so far has been time management because she is also a student. She initially struggled with juggling these aspects of her life efficiently, but her solution was setting clear, healthy boundaries between work and school to avoid any clashes. She is fully invested in both school and her business and therefore does not want one of those to suffer as a result of the other. So far so good though, because Theresa told us that she is happy with the level her business is at right now. She acknowledged that growth happens in steps and that she can see a clear difference now versus shortly after launch. She is proud of the continuous growth of her brand and intends to keep it that way. Regarding future prospects, she intends to keep the main part of the business online but also acquire a physical location or two to drive expansion and also increase product range and variety.

Theresa believes that customer satisfaction should be the number one priority of any business and that is precisely how she runs A Taste of Tee. Even when faced with difficult customers, she maintains her calm and composure while apologizing and thinking of ways to quell the situation.

Theresa also does not care too much about competition. She is a strong believer that there is room for everyone at the top and therefore there should be upliftment and not competition. For her, owning a business in Nigeria demands upliftment, quality and consistency to get past all the struggles you can possibly face. Her advice to fellow business owners in Nigeria is to “visualize and execute”. If you can think it, then it can be done.

Being a woman and business owner in Nigeria, Theresa has faced difficulties from men. She does not let that upset her though; and she even goes on to let us know that she harnesses these challenges as a driving force to get to the top. For her, it is either a situation where she has a seat at the table or a situation where she builds her own table. Such powerful words only impressed us and further highlighted her drive to succeed. She advices women to never give up on their dreams because the world is centered towards fulfilling the needs of men. “Things are slowly changing and one day, dreams will come true so keep pushing and never give up” she added.

Being the review driven enthusiasts that we are, we asked the question of what she thinks of myudo.biz as well as what advice she could give us. " The best platform ever. Thank you for this opportunity." She replied.
Thanks for the compliments, Theresa! We are happy to have you on board and we will constantly make improvements to get ahead just like you are doing.
