What is udobizNG?

This is a question you probably have not asked yourself or anyone else before till you saw this blog post title (unless you’re one of our numerous lovely people that have registered their businesses on this site). Well, ha! Now you’re wondering exactly what UdobizNG is all about right? Read on to find out.

Our Roots and Growth

Our founder, Kosy is an engineering graduate with a love for computer software and development. Basically all that good-stuff you can do by manipulating lines of code. He is also a former twitter addict (we say former because he’s got less time on his hands now to actually spend long hours on twitter). He noticed the increasing nature of tweets with the words “Please retweet...my customer is on your timeline” and “where can I find insert product or service here ininsert location here. These sort of statements (plus if we are being honest, Kosy’s love for development and ahem…boredom) were the foundation for the idea that is currently udobizNG. Did we mention that Kosy designed the entire site from scratch?
Fun-fact: Kosy actually used the udobizNG project to learn web design and development.
Another fun-fact: We enjoy gassing Kosy up just in case you hadn’t noticed.
Yet another fun-fact: We have two other main board members, Ahmed and Larry; that Kosy runs ideas by at different intervals before any implementation. They also came up with the current slogan: “Udobiz, Your business is our business” .We also have one silent board member, Jamal.
The site has undergone huge changes from its inception in February 2016. We had like 4 months with no sign-ups which was grim but hey patience pays off. We would show you pictures of the version 1 of the site but we have none and would like to keep it that way because they are actually embarrassing. Version 2 has a much glow up as a lot of Nigerian celebrities after they got their first big break. We will not mention names but you can go ahead and let your imagination run wild. We wanted to keep everything as Nigerian as possible so the site is hosted by WhoGoHost, a Nigerian web-hosting company. We love their service so far so check them out (we swear this is not a paid ad). We also went with the GREEN-WHITE-GREEN theme for our homepage.

What we do and our aims

Right now our services are aimed towards creating a global hub of Nigerian businesses. We want to create a place where anyone looking for Nigerian services or products does not need to constantly go online and ask questions but to simply search on UdobizNG and find a large amount of people offering said services or products. This reality is getting closer daily as we have more people registering their businesses on udobizNG. For the entrepreneurs that have done this so far, we love you and cannot wait to grant you the global audience you deserve. For those that have not done so, what are you waiting for?

• Option to directly contact any business owners and enquire about their services. (We ask that this be only used for professional contact).
WE WOULD LIKE TO STRESS THE FACT THAT NO FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS DIRECTLY OCCUR ON THIS SITE. BE MINDFUL OF WHO YOU GIVE YOUR FINANCIAL DETAILS TO AFTER ANY LIAISON ON THIS SITE. UdobizNG will not be held responsible for fraud/theft carried out with relation to the above warning.

The Future

Now that you know what we currently do, you might be wondering what the future holds. Even though we cannot tell you our full masterplan, we can tell you that we are doing some major improvements with regards to profile and business page frontend and backend. We also aim to develop and incorporate a forum section within the site where people can discuss various business issues as well as give tips and share ideas. For now, that is all we are authorized to share but stay tuned for more announcements in future blog posts. Oh yeah, we forgot to add that this blog is new as well.

This section is mainly to those that have already registered products or services on UdobizNG. Once more, we love you long time. On that note, we do ask that if you have no actual site for your business, that you put the link to your udobizNG page in your Twitter and Facebook bio to help spread the word about the existence of your page and also of udobizNG. We also ask that you let friends and business owners know about our services and aims. That being said, thank you so much for the support and for allowing us feature your business on this growing platform. Not too many people are comfortable with doing such, even with the fact that it’s free. People ask what we gain from this (rightly so, the world is full of scam-artists that give “free services” with a costly ulterior motive) and we say the same thing to all. We just want a platform to help grow as many businesses as we can and hopefully to one day become a household name.
